Hello Pierre-Marie Baty,

I am experiencing some difficulties while attempting to install an app on my iPhone, and I would greatly appreciate some assistance from you or anyone familiar with the issue. I apologize in advance if this topic has already been addressed elsewhere, but I couldn't find a solution that worked for me.

Here are the details of my problem:

OTA Installation Failure: I initially tried to install the app using the OTA (Over-The-Air) method. Unfortunately, the link provided failed to load properly, and as a result, the installation process could not proceed. I have double-checked my internet connection and made sure I have sufficient storage space on my device, but the issue persists.

iTunes App Category Removal: In my attempt to find an alternative method, I turned to iTunes. However, I discovered that the latest version of iTunes no longer includes the "App" category, making it impossible for me to install the app through this traditional route. I'm unsure why this change has been made, but it has left me unable to proceed.

Copy and Paste Method: In my eagerness to find a workaround, I tried the copy and paste method to transfer the app to iTunes manually. Regrettably, this approach did not yield any positive results either. The app did not appear in my iTunes library, and I could not initiate the installation process.

Given these circumstances, I kindly request the assistance of the plugin provider or anyone who has encountered a similar problem. Is there anything I can do to successfully install the app on my iPhone? Are there any alternative methods I can try? I would greatly appreciate any advice or guidance that could help resolve this issue.

I want to emphasize that I have followed the instructions provided to the best of my ability. However, it seems that external factors, such as the failure of the OTA link and the removal of the "App" category in iTunes, are hindering my progress. Your expertise and insights would be invaluable to me, and I thank you in advance for your time and attention.

Please note that I have thoroughly enjoyed using this plugin in the past, and I'm eager to continue doing so. I hope we can find a solution together and overcome this obstacle.

Thank you all for your understanding and support!

Best regards

Hello Tyler

I sometimes have these issues too when my Wifi network is particularly congested, but never to the point where it was impossible to deploy.

Basic verifications first. How big is the .ipa file you attempted to download ? Also, is it signed and provisioned with a development certificate from the Apple Developer program ?

About iTunes, you need to download the desktop version, not the Windows Store version. Have they removed the app category from the desktop version too ? That would be very unfortunate. But in that case there's still be the possibility to download and use an older version of iTunes desktop.

If you want to retry OTA transfer, move your phone next to the Wifi router if you can while transferring the app. Does it help ?

If you have admin rights on that Wifi router, it's likely that this congestion is caused because the router shares the same radio frequency range as another nearby router (and as a consequence both your router and your neighbour's compete for packets and experience terrible performance). Simply switch your router to use another range (a.k.a. "Wifi channel"). Let me know if it helps.
