How does it work?

Download the app on your computer.
Give it permissions to generate events (so that it can simulate mouse moves and keypresses). Just follow what it says.
Leave it running.

Anytime you want to control your computer with your phone, flash the QR code that HeliMouse displays.

A webpage opens on your mobile device, featuring a trackpad and a keyboard:

Drag to move. Tap to click. Scroll with two fingers. Type any text you want. You are now controlling your computer with your mobile phone.

No ads! You don't want to be nagged when all you want is to relax.
No trackers! Fed up with software that spy on you in all possible ways? Well: so am I.
Connect by scanning a QR code. No "server selection" page, no need to type an address. You flash, you're in.
Anti-frustration trackpad: covers the whole screen, so your finger doesn't slip away from it.
Drag to move, tap to click, scroll with two fingers: zero surprise.
Smooth scrolling as with the Magic Mouse! Nothing more frustrating than choppy scrolling among a movie list, isn't it?
Bidirectional scrolling! Sometimes you do need it.
Helimouse actually shows where the pointer is on your screen. In case you can't see it.
Convenience left and right buttons for people who need it.
QWERTY, AZERTY, QWERTZ, Cyrillic, Greek, Dvorak and Colemak keyboard layouts, autodetected. Should cover a lot of use cases.
All the Unicode character derivations (accents) are supported (long press on a key - choose variant).
A superb random background image on each connection! Want a different one? Refresh!
Auto-reconnects when connection is lost and the network becomes available again.
Doesn't impair the normal mouse and keyboard: the mouse position auto-updates on the HeliMouse trackpad.
Supports concurrent connections: start a mouse war with your wife over your favorite TV program!
The QR code appears again after 4 hours detected inactivity (longer than a movie), but you may display it again before you leave.

Requirements

A mobile phone with a Javascript-enabled web browser, using the same Wifi as your computer (or if your computer is on Ethernet, the Wifi your phone uses must be the same local network as your computer). NOTE: your mobile phone doesn't need to be Apple or Android, actually any mobile device of any brand can use HeliMouse!
Optional (but so handy): a working camera on your mobile to flash the QR code displayed by HeliMouse on your computer.

Troubleshooting

😕 The app won't run!

Mac version: make sure you allowed it to generate system events in the Mac's Settings app (just follow what HeliMouse says).
Windows version: make sure you allowed it to access the network (answer Yes when asked. If it doesn't, check your Firewall settings).

🤔 Can't connect / blank page!

Make sure your phone is connected to Wifi, and is on the same network as your computer.

😱 I closed the webpage and the QR code is hidden!

Just reopen the last page your visited in your browser history.

Privacy policy

Privacy is an important question. HeliMouse's privacy policy is simple.

This app does not collect data. Neither about you, neither about your device, nor about anything.
